ROOF APPEAL
After 130 years, the South Aisle slate roof over our Lady Chapel has come to the end of its life and now needs to be urgently repaired in order for our building to remain safe and secure. The situation has become critical and we must start our roof repairs in summer 2023.
The cost of the roof repair work is £140,000. Without grants from the government or the Church of England, we are reliant on the generosity of our Church members and those in the local community for ongoing running costs as well as one-off projects like our roof.
In order to raise the funds we need, we are running a fundraising campaign to encourage donations from within our congregation and from those living in the local area for whom the heritage of St Andrew’s is of great significance. We are also applying to trusts and foundations, and holding a series of fundraising events.
Our beautiful building facilitates worship and ministry and next summer’s roof repair work will ensure that the church interior is watertight for an anticipated 100 years.
Please consider making a gift towards this work in order to safeguard our worship and ministry for generations to come.
